Creating a topic fails and loses all of the information you typed in

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Somewhere else…

Describe the Bug

I created a topic with the same name as someone elses topic. As a result when I clicked create topic it failed saying another topic with the same name already exists. It then deleted the entire bug report I had created.

Steps to Reproduce

use the same topic name as someone else and type anything into the bug report, then click create topic.

Expected Behavior

it keeps the information

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Not applicable as this is a cursor forums issue not cursor client issue

Additional Information

This is unbelievably frustrating when you fill out a very detailed bug report. I nearly didn’t submit it a second time.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, sorry to hear this! The default behaviour I see is that you do get the warning about the topic title matching, but your drafted post should remain open and allow you to change it!

It did not

Does this continue to happen every time you try to submit a bug report?

Yes, I just tried it. I’m using librewolf if that makes a difference.

Also the title stays, everything else gets cleared.
