Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V no longer copy & paste in terminal after upgrading to Cursor 2.2.3

I’m encountering an issue after upgrading Cursor from v1.5.5 to v2.2.3.

In version 1.5.5, I could freely select text in a newly created terminal and use Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V to copy and paste as expected.

However, after upgrading to 2.2.3:

  1. Pressing Ctrl+C in the terminal now always terminates the running process instead of copying the selected text.
  2. Ctrl+V no longer pastes content into the terminal.
  3. The “+” button for “New Terminal” in the terminal tab bar is also missing.

This behavior makes terminal usage much less convenient compared to the previous version.

Is this a known change or regression in Cursor 2.x?
Are there any settings, keybindings, or workarounds to restore the previous copy/paste behavior and the “New Terminal” button?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Use Ctrl+Shift+C / Ctrl+Shift+V

These are actually universal and predate Cursor.

I’m having the same issue on macOS where Cmd+C / Cmd+V isn’t working correctly. I can’t paste long content into the terminal. This has been happening consistently ever since the version 2.x update. However, if I go back to version 1.x, the problem disappears and I can use Cmd+V to paste data into the terminal normally without any issues.

How can I fix this? I’ve already tried Cmd+Shift+V, but it still doesn’t work. I use the terminal to run other AI tools alongside the Cursor AI IDE, and it’s extremely annoying to have to open two separate IDE windows just to use AI in the terminal, instead of just being able to use everything smoothly within Cursor.
