Describe the Bug

Firstly, this hotkey was part of my workflow to do auto completion (I think it was the default for completion). Seems Cursor took control of this at some point to do audio transcription… it has bugged me for over a week now why my completion was not working (and why my music lyrics I’m listening to suddenly starts appearing in my agent…)

However, I do notice that each time I activate/deactivate it, there is a chance it breaks my bluetooth audio connection (using AirPods), switching to my speakers either temporarily or permanently.

I’m going to disable this bad default hotkey, but audio handling should also be fixed.

Steps to Reproduce

Ubuntu 24.04 using Kde and Bluetooth / speaker audio.
ctr-shift-space to complete parameter hints.

Expected Behavior

Do autocomplete. (not audio recording, and certainly not switching my music/slack playback to my speakers!)

Hey, thanks for the report. It looks like a hotkey conflict with Ctrl+Shift+Space between Parameter Hints and Voice Input, plus a bug with switching Bluetooth audio on Ubuntu KDE.

Could you please:

  • Go to File > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts, find the Voice Input command “Cursor: Trigger Voice Mode”, remove or reassign Ctrl+Shift+Space, and restore the hotkey for “Trigger Parameter Hints”
  • Check if the audio switching issue persists after the change

If the bug remains, please share:

  • A screenshot of Keyboard Shortcuts with Voice Input and Parameter Hints commands
  • Help > Toggle Developer Tools > Console at the moment of pressing Ctrl+Shift+Space
  • Request ID from the agent’s message when starting transcription (if it appears)
  • The version of PipeWire/PulseAudio, and whether it occurs with other Bluetooth devices

Please provide this data and I’ll pass it on to the team.
