Curor Project - unable to create new one

When I try to click “new project,” I get a modal asking for the new project name, workspace, and template.
But the workspace remains in a perpetual “loading repositories” folder.
Is this happening to anyone else?

Hey @m1ai, thanks for the report, and sorry about the stuck dialog.

Quick context: Create Project is for cloud projects, so the Workspace picker only lists repositories from a connected GitHub or GitLab account, or lets you “Start from scratch” on a brand new repository hosted by Cursor (visible at cursor.com/codebase). It does not offer folders that only exist on your machine. For an agent on a local folder, use New Chat in the Agents Window instead.

On your account there is currently nothing for that picker to list: GitHub is not connected, and your team does not have a codebase namespace yet. The picker should settle to “Start from scratch” in that state instead of spinning, so the endless “Loading Repositories…” is on our side and I have passed it along.

To get unblocked now, since you are the team admin:

  1. Open cursor.com/codebase/get-started and complete the one-time namespace setup for your team (about a minute).
  2. Quit Cursor completely and reopen it.
  3. Open the Agents Window, click Create Project, give it a name.
  4. In the Workspace row, pick “Start from scratch” and click Create Project.

Could you let me know two things afterwards: did the project get created, and does the Workspace row still show “Loading Repositories…” at step 3? If you would rather use your GitHub repositories, connect GitHub in Cursor Settings → Integrations and install the Cursor GitHub app on your organization, then repeat steps 2 and 3.
