Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. This shouldn’t happen after just one message, so it looks like a bug.

To help us investigate, please share:

  • Request ID: open the chat context menu (top right of the Agent) → Copy Request ID, then paste it here
  • Console logs: Help → Toggle Developer Tools → Console tab, and screenshot any errors (especially around the time this message appears)
  • Codebase details:
    • How many files are in your project?
    • Are you working with any particularly large files?
    • Does this happen in a new empty project, or only in your current repo?
  • Context: how many files (if any) did you have attached or in context when the error appeared?

Temporary workaround: as you noticed, restarting Cursor and clicking send again works temporarily. You can also try creating a new chat with fewer files in context.

I’ll pass this on to the engineering team.

Thanks for the GIF, that’s really helpful! As I mentioned above, we need a bit more diagnostic information to properly understand the issue.

Please share:

  • Request ID: click the context menu (top right of Agent) → Copy Request ID
  • Console logs: Help → Toggle Developer Tools → Console tab - take a screenshot of any errors at the moment this message appears
  • Project details: roughly how many files are in the project? Are there any particularly large files?
  • Context: how many files were attached or in context when this happened?
  • Test: does this also happen in a completely new empty project?

This will help the engineering team find the root cause.
