Describe the Bug

Just updated to Cursor v2.2.43 and Gemini 3 Flash is unable to perform any tasks in the IDE. Just spills over the chat window without interacting with the tools/files.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Select Gemini 3 Flash model.
2. Ask it to do anything.

Expected Behavior

Interacting with files and using Cursor tools.

Hey, thanks for the report. From your screenshot, it looks like the model is just outputting text instead of applying changes to the files.

To help us diagnose, we need a bit more info:

1. The Request ID from the chat context menu (top-right). This will help us check the logs.
2. Try Claude Sonnet 4.5 instead of Gemini 3 Flash with the same request. Does it work with tools?
3. What exactly did you ask the model to do (create a file, edit an existing one, etc.)?

This looks like a known issue with Gemini in v2.2.43, a regression in tool calling. I’ll pass it to the team.
