Cursor 2.6: MCP Apps

New in Cursor! · Full changelog · Main announcement

We’re excited to introduce support MCP Apps, interactive UI elements that render directly inside Cursor!

How it works:

MCP Apps let MCP servers return interactive HTML interfaces, like dashboards, charts, forms, media viewers, that render right in your agent chat. Instead of getting a text summary or switching to an external tool, you get a live, interactive UI embedded in the conversation.

Apps run in a sandboxed iframe for security, and communicate with the MCP server through a secure channel—so they can call tools and receive data updates while staying fully isolated.

We’d love your feedback!

  • Which MCP apps are you most excited to use in your workflow?
  • How does having interactive UIs in chat change how you work with agents?
  • Are you interested in building your own MCP apps? What would you build?

If you’ve found a bug, please post it in Bug Reports instead, so we can track and address it properly, but also feel free to drop a link to it in this thread for visibility.
