Cursor 2 on Macos: application is damaged and should be moved to trash

Describe the Bug

I downloaded cursor2.0 for arm64 and I cannot copy it to Applications

Steps to Reproduce

Download latest cursor (I event tried with 1.7) when moving the app to applications I get: Application is damaged should be moved to trash", clicking cancel, reprompts me.
Launching cursor from the DMG works.

Operating System

MacOS

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Version: 2.0 arm64
Macos 15.16.1

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

As indicated here, copying the app first to desktop then to applications worked

Same problem, I downloaded cursor2.0 and cannot launch it. It says the app is damaged and should be moved to trash.

Hi, I don’t see the steps but solved the problem by downloading an updated version of electron.
