Limit Hit - Switch to Auto no way to current do that from cursor-agent cli

Steps to Reproduce

Been using cursor-agent for the last day or so putting it through it’s paces, hit my limits today

Expected Behavior

The ability to switch to auto mode from the cursor-agent cli tool

Windows 10/11

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Also not sure if this is related but it’s still hitting my limit even though according to the error message my billing cycle should have reset today

It would still reset today, perhaps later in day.

It reset a day later so on the 15th which is fine

Something that might also be related

I updated to the latest version 2025.08.15-dbc8d73

And used my fully limit on a component refactor (not sure if the new version has bug but that seems a little crazy)

usage below 7 million and 10 million tokens seems high

For token usage, it depends on:

  • Chat length
  • Context attached
  • Tool calls, as they accumulate data
