Describe the Bug
Cursor Agent stops working and freezes. Opening in a chat window freezes the session. When you try to open it in full screen, it leaves black spaces (saving the state of original ratio).
Steps to Reproduce
Open Cursor IDE → Click on “Agents Windows” → Hit a request → Chat stucks
Expected Behavior
Just a normal working behavior of Cursor Agents Window

A few things to try that have helped others with similar symptoms:

Clear Editor History: Press Cmd+Shift+P, type Clear Editor History, and run it. Then restart Cursor. This clears out any corrupted conversation state that can cause the panel to freeze.

Check your Max Tab Count: Go to Cursor Settings, search for Max Tab Count. If it’s set to 1, increase it to 2 or higher. A known bug causes agent panel crashes at that setting.

Full quit and relaunch: Fully quit Cursor (not just close the window) and relaunch.
If the issue persists after those steps, could you grab the following so we can narrow it down further?

Open Help > Toggle Developer Tools, click the Console tab, then reproduce the freeze. Check for any red error messages and share a screenshot.

Does the freeze happen with every new conversation, or only when opening specific existing ones?
