I was having the same issue, Cursor was not responding no matter what I do. Following may solve your problem which solved mine;
- Go to your indexing delete and let it reindex. And while doing that make sure you are not on a public network, use your phones hotspot if possible.
- Check your folders, Cursor was somehow were displaying some files tagged as Deleted, I added them and it reindex the codebase.
After doing these steps I was able to use the Cursor without problems.

Had it both in Mac and Linux with different projects in different languages (doesn’t seem related)
In my case I was connecting from windows lapotp via vpn tunnel to remote linux host. The problem was that the particular chat was trying to refer with @ to some files that cursor on the remote machine did not have access to, in particular local .ssh config. I had opened this local file and told agent to refer to it in the chat. When I removed this @config the chat worked again. The lack of any diagnostic about this is a problem! Why not just inform user that files, screenshots, etc are not accessible?

Im having the same issue. Its been 2 days. 3 machines. I deleted the app and redownloaded it. Still nothing. What was the fix for yall?
I’m having the same issue. but not in all instances.
If I’m working with files locally, it’s fine.
If I’m working with files via SSH to a raspberry pi machine, it’s fine.
If I’m working with files via SSH to a synology nas, I get no response other than “planning next moves”.
