Cursor AI free models?

Hi all, I’m quite new to cursor and coding with AI.

Currently, I am still on my free trial. I finished using my premium request and want to try models that don’t use up my premium request. Under my account, it says the models with no monthly quota are GPT-40-mini and cursor-small.

To my understanding, these models are also free with unlimited use (non-premium models), is that correct? Double checking as these models are not included in the picture above

  • Deepseek v3
  • Gemini 2.5 Flash
  • Grok 3 Mini beta
  • GPT-4o-mini

In my current model list, I can’t see 4o-mini, does this need to be added manually?

Also, I can only select Deepseek v3.1 and not v3. Are these models the same?

Hi, you can copy the models from Cursors Models page (hover over the model name, there is a copy icon that copies the exact model name, and paste into the Cursor Settings > Model Names. Use the + Add model button.

On other side, there may be some limits as to how much on can those models be used on trial, but its a while since I last used a trial account.

Overall the goal of the free trial is to see how Cursor works and if it matches for you, with fair usage of the provided resources.

Those models are included in the Pro account subscription without request limits.
