Cursor AI Pane Become Unresponsive

Hi Cursor Team,

I’ve been experiencing increasingly common issues with the AI pane where either the scrolling is frozen (the bar moves but the pane doesn’t adjust), the chat becomes unresponsive (ie. either the chat become unresponsive or you simply cannot type into the chat bar or cmd+shift+L into the AI pane). This is sometimes (but not always) associated with an error on the chat pane (I’ll paste this in once I get it again). I’ve found it difficult to reproduce reliably, it typically occurs after multiple interactions with the pane. I uninstalled and reinstalled cursor yesterday to address this but it did not change this behaviour. The only thing that seems to fix it is to quit Cursor and reopen, this typically restores normal behaviour until it happens again.

This is my Cursor Version:
Version: 0.39.6
VSCode Version: 1.91.1
Commit: a4f99b7dfb14460cb0bcebd9f6ac7ca158217920
Date: 2024-08-19T00:03:08.275Z
Electron: 29.4.0
ElectronBuildId: undefined

Node.js: 20.9.0
V8: 12.2.281.27-electron.0
OS: Darwin arm64 23.6.0

Wondering if there are any quick fixes with this, this issues seems to have become progressively worse over the last few weeks (maybe its cache related?).

I might drop cursor temporarily because of this. It’s pretty annoying to not even get acknowledged that this is an issue.

Sorry for the bugs here!

I haven’t been able to repro, could you share your logs? If you hit cmd-shift-P and type “Developer: Open Logs Folder”, you can zip and send over the parent “logs” folder to hi@cursor.com. I’ll take a look!

Hi, I just sent the logs to that email after the freeze happened on me again. Thank you for the acknowledgement of the bug
