Cursor Background Agent keeps turning itself back on

Describe the Bug

Background agent keeps turning on itself after I toggle it off in the settings.

Steps to Reproduce

It automatically turns itself on every few minutes, even when disabled.

Expected Behavior

If you set Background Agents off in the Settings. It should stay off.

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

That makes sense. I never enabled Background Agents in the first place, then the IDE started throwing errors about the background agent not being able to find the git root.

I now have the Cursor setting open and have to go over and disable it every few minutes when cursor turns it back on. Very annoying.

@KenMcArthur @tiz.io thank you for the bug report.

I updated a separate 1.2.4 installation that had this issue to 1.3.5 (latest stable release) and when I disable Background Agents it does not turn it back on.

Could you please upgrade and confirm this is working for you? Otherwise let me know as well because this should not be happening.
