I’ve been facing a frustrating issue with the Cursor editor. Every time I restart my computer, the application fails to open and I’m required to reinstall it to get it working again. This started happening after I opened two Cursor windows and searched through two different projects. Once I closed the application, the issue began. Now, every time I shut down and boot up my system, I need to reinstall Cursor just to open it again.
I’ve already downloaded the latest version from the homepage, but the problem persists.
Has anyone experienced this issue? Any suggestions or fixes would be greatly appreciated!
I found a solution on another post. If you updated to version 4.6 and are experiencing the same issue (having to reinstall Cursor after every restart), you can try directly installing version 4.6. That’s how I solved my problem.

I have this issue every time I close cursor, I cannot open it.
I have the latest download available from your page. Version x64-0.45.15. Using Win 11.
The tools error happens shortly after closing the app, then the shortcut no longer works. Every time I want to use cursor, I have to reinstall it. Every time bar none.
This is the only way to open the app.
I have also seen the Chinese characters within the editor. A whole line of them at the top. I just deleted them. It didn’t happen before I used Deepseek.
It is irritating to have to re-install each time but have no choice.
