Cursor Flickering when both AI pane and Status Bar open

Describe the Bug

When I have both the Status Bar and the AI pane open, there is flickering. I assume it’s because it doesn’t know which to place above another. It’s like taking turns of the AI pane being on top and the Status Bar.

Steps to Reproduce

Status Bar active, right pane for the AI pane open.

Expected Behavior

Stop the flickering by making sure that one of them (the status bar) takes priority by being on top.

Windows 10/11

Hey, thanks for the report.

Please update Cursor to the latest version first:

  • Download the current installer: Download · Cursor
  • If auto-update doesn’t arrive, do a manual reinstall from that page

If the flickering persists after updating, please share:

  • A short video
  • Console errors: Developer: Toggle Developer Tools → Console
  • Logs: Developer: Open Logs Folder
  • Exact repro steps and system info from Cursor > Help > About

Quick checks:

  1. Run cursor --disable-extensions and see if the issue goes away
  2. Move the AI panel to the other side and test
  3. Try on a single monitor at 100% Windows scaling
