Cursor gets stuck on MacOS (Intel)

I have the latest Cursor installed on my intel based mac (sequoia 15.3.2) and it stopped working suddenly today. The UI gets stuck whenever I load any folder and starts loading the chat panel indefinitely until the whole window stops working. I checked Cursor Status page, and all systems seem operational at the moment.

I think this issue is related to a large amount of chat history in your project. You can try renaming your project and opening it. If that helps, then the cause is clear. If your chat history is important to you, you can try exporting it using this extension:

I had the same problem, my project wouldn’t open anymore. This problem started when I upgraded to 4.7.x.

Thanks for providing a possible solution.

However, this problem is caused or triggered by the upgrade and needs to be completely resolved in subsequent versions, especially the impact on existing projects.
