Cursor Glass doesn't render .md in the Files view

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Somewhere else…

Describe the Bug

Markdown files in the IDE render properly. Markdown in Glass shows as raw markdown. So, if I want to read tables or mermaid diagrams for plans, I need to open the IDE to view, and then back to Glass. I think default for Glass, seeing as it’s more vibe/less code than the IDE, should be to Render markdown files as standard.

Thanks!

Matt

Steps to Reproduce

Open a markdown file in the file viewer in Glass.

Expected Behavior

Markdown should render in glass.

Operating System

MacOS

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hi Matt!

Thanks for the feedback. Markdown rendering in Glass’s Files view is something the team is actively working on. It’s not yet available to all users, but it’s on the roadmap to make rich previews (markdown, images, video) the default experience in Glass.

For now, you can use the standard IDE view to read rendered markdown files, as you’ve been doing. I’ve noted your feedback as an additional data point for the team.

I agree with your reasoning that Glass, being a more streamlined interface, should default to rendering markdown rather than showing raw text. The team shares that vision.

Hey @Matt_Bishop!

The .md file rendering issue in Glass Files view has been fixed in a recent Cursor update. Updating to the latest version should resolve this.
