You can now launch Background Agents directly from Slack by mentioning @Cursor. Agents can read the thread, understand what’s going on, and create PRs in GitHub.
Agents run remotely in a secure environment and you’ll get updates directly in Slack, including links to Cursor and GitHub, when the work is done.
Using slack agent but odd bug. The cursor agent in slack always answers with the incorrect repository and branch regardless of my instructions. I cannot find any setting for telling the slack agent which branch and repo it is on. I have tried using the reconnect slack button in settings. I have also removed the slack integration and re-added the integration but it still seems stuck on the same repo. The repo it answers with also doesn’t seem to be connected to the repo I have open in cursor. Really odd and no work around.
Can the cursor slack integration be used with gitlab? More specifically with gitlab repos that are only accessible within VPN? I only see mentions of github on the doc page.
it’s impossible to disconnect or unlink the slack account.
Anyone know how to do that without removing the entire app? Sounds relevant to create an option in the web interface to “unlink” your accounts (in this particular case, slack)
What’s the recommended workflow for these? I need to have a back and forth about changes, so it would make much more sense to be able to discuss on the PR itself, but the agent doesn’t seem to have any context.
Do follow ups have to be through the “follow up” option in slack? Or will it respond to replies in the same thread.
Would love a bit more guidance/content on the best way to work with them. That being said, it’s an amazing addition so kudos to the team
The Slack integration has been fantastic so far—it’s genuinely helped boost my productivity. It’s great to be able to return to my laptop and see that Cursor has already drafted new ideas and features while I’ve been focused on other tasks.
I did notice, though, that Cursor sometimes comments on GitHub pull requests and other times it doesn’t. Is that expected behavior? Ideally, I’d love for it to always summarize the changes it made when it opens a PR.
