Cursor Background Agents in Slack - how to pass .env

Loving the new Slack feature.

Any idea how to give the Background Agents access to .env variables?

Hi @mwjt42 could you check your settings for global ignore files as settings are transferred to the agent.

That makes sense for Background Agents I launch from the app, but for Slack, these are run without the need for Cursor to be installed/open.

Its the same background agent you set up earlier on desktop from my experience

Or did you try it on a project which didnt have B-Agent?

I just added it the Slack app in the web cursor settings. I can then use Slack on any device (inc mobile) to message the Cursor agent.

@Cursor fix the thing”, just works.

But, has no .env context as it creates a new branch on GitHub and uses the code from there

Ok good question, will post to Cursor Team  @danperks
