Hey. The bug where the BYOK toggle turns itself off is a known issue and it’s being tracked. No ETA for a fix yet. We’re still taking reports since that helps keep the priority up.
A couple things to figure out your specific case:
- Your account is currently on the Free tier. I don’t see an active subscription. The logic that forces BYOK off for Pro/Pro+/Ultra shouldn’t trigger on Free, so you might have a different cause, like the key not being saved in secure storage between restarts.
- What Cursor version and macOS version are you on? And does the toggle turn off right after you enter the key, after restarting the app, or after every request?
- If you can share a screenshot of Settings > Models with the toggle on and off, that would help too.
