Where can I see REAL TIME usage against my monthly subscription plan?

I’m new to cursor since end of June, and already I hit the limit on the $20 plan, and then upgraded to the $60 plan. I am so afraid every time I use cursor, because I feel TOTALLY in the dark when I use it regarding my real time usage VS my allowed monthly usage. I’m always thinking I’ll get interrupted in the middle of a task. Why is it that there is not real time meter in chat that shows me where my consumption is at in relation to what I am allowed? It would help me choose which model I am using for what task, and when to tackle a large refactor vs just tackling small tasks. In SUNO you clearly see your credits and how many are used in REAL TIME, so you always know where you stand against your subscription plan. Wouldn’t this be the most obvious needed feature in Cursor?
Or did I miss where to activate this?

Hey, welcome to Cursor and to our forums!

We currently have a few ways to track your usage:

  • On cursor.com/dashboard - if you head to the ‘Usage’ page, you will find a breakdown of your usage there. While it does not show your usage relative to how much usage you have, it can be useful to see how much you have used so far!
  • Inside Cursor - As @Artemonim has mentioned, we have alerts in-app when you reach certain points in your usage (e.g 75%, 90%), as well as a prediction for when you may hit your usage for the month!

We are hoping to further improve this soon with more transparency, but both of these options are available now.

Thank you for the answer.
Personally the usage dashboard confuses me… I see lines of agents edits and tabs accepted, and a graphic. But I dont understand what it means, in relation to what my total allowed is. And since Im working in cursor, its counter intuitive to have to go on a website to look at usage stats every time I want to know where Im at…
Why can’t we have a simple direct real time feedback directly within Cursor? A simple meter with real numbers. This is why I was refering to SUNO, beause it is so clear and simple: X number of credits allowed, X number of credits used. Usage is clear, I know where I’m at, I know what my last music generations cost in credits, I can easily track my usage and feel safe to continue working.
I’m not saying it has to be the same on Cursor, but a Real Time usage info directly within cursor would be a tremendous help, and I sure would feel a lot less stressed about being dropped right in the middle of a large refactor task.

About in-app alerts informing the user about reaching 75%-90% usage,it feels inadequate because there is no way to know 75% really means in terms of usage. A percentage of something we can’t measure doesn’t say much.

It would be greatly appreciated to have real-time feedback in-app.

Thank you for your consideration.

Martin

PS. I am enjoying Cursor very much. It opened up so many avenues for me in possibilities of coding wordpress plugins, chrome extensions, tools for my every day usage at work. For me personally, that Live feedback would pretty much make this software perfect for my needs. Thank you.

We are looking at further in-app alerting of this manor but have nothing to announce or release yet. I appreciate the feedback here, and glad to hear you are enjoying Cursor so far!

That’s too transparent, please, proceed to reading some 10 minute paper on billing until it will change tomorrow.

Thank you.

Never crossed my mine. Clear real-time visualization? Nah. It clearly better to spend resources implementing 4-6 various billing approaches.

Yeah the usage is completely un-understandable and I feel like they are doing it on purpose to increase revenue…

Their doc shows a feature that I don’t see anymore on the dashboard’s Usage page :

This is exactly what we need ! Why remove it and have us go blind on our usage ?

Bring it back please

Requested since July, and lot of queries on the same on Google…

Its very essential to see whats happening. I understand it might take a delay of a few mins to update to the most recent usage, but we should be able to show the usage what is available..

BTB,

Thanks for the Cursor, its making our life very easy

I agree with you. Looks like they’re making it difficult to track on purpose.

It’s so annoying. Again, I get caught up by a bill. I’m fine paying, but not fine with getting surprised by the hevty bill all-of-a-sudden.

Yes this is an obvious feature that should be added there, I don’t rely on alerts, I want to see my real time consumption so I know how to manage it and when I over use it, and how much I can use more

I agree with others, there used to be a very clear bar showing what percentage you’ve used of your monthly allowance. Please bring this back. I really can’t see any other reason that it was removed besides trying to keep users in the dark so they won’t self-limit and will end up having to pay for more prompts. This feels very scummy in my opinion and makes me want to jump to a different tool. I was even considering having my company use Cursor as our official IDE but things like this really make me think otherwise

I run Cursor Ultra but can not see how much I have left. Really need to know it so I can plan my month! This has been an issue for a long time now.

Completely agree! Transparency is paramount when it comes to this.. Need to know how far along my included usage I am.. Post in screenshot says it perfectly

Hi guys, I might be missing something obvious here but… it shows usage right below the chat window doesn’t it?

They are doing this to confuse users. That’s the only reason.

Got my cursor updated to latest version, never seen anything like that…

Apparently I’m on Version: 1.7.38 (Universal) on MacOS Sequoia. But I feel like this has been on Cursor since I’ve been using it - which has only been a couple of months.

I am on Version 1.7.40. I have just fund out that in Cursor Settings > Chat there is a “Usage summary” which is default to “Auto”. If you put it in “Always” you will get the dashboard.
