Cursor just created a project outside of the current project's folder

Describe the Bug

I started an app using vanilla js and after about 15 minutes it became unreliable so i asked Cursor to turn it into a NextJS project. It went up a directory and created a separate project that wasn’t currently opened in cursor. Its not supposed to do that… right?

Steps to Reproduce

I dont know how.

Expected Behavior

Any changes that Cursor makes should be within the currently opened directory
