Cursor looping same response

Hi there, I use cursor pro plan, and I use Auto model. Currently when I ask the question in the prompt, seems it looping same response. I have to stop the response. And I have more questions, is it keep wasting my token usage right? Hope there will be a response from cursor team. Thank you.

Steps to Reproduce
How can you reproduce this bug? We have a much better chance at fixing issues if we can reproduce them!

  1. Open Cursor IDE, choose Auto model, and using Agent mode

  2. Then ask question “When I upload to play console, I got rejected because it was said “Child Safety Standards policy: Violation of Child Safety Standards policy”. How to fix it?”

  3. Cursor just keep response with:
    ”Creating the Community Guidelines/Published Standards document that meets Google Play’s requirements:”
    ”Creating the Community Guidelines/Published Standards document that meets Google Play’s requirements. Creating both an HTML version (for hosting) and a markdown version (for reference):”

Expected Behavior
What is meant to happen here that isn’t working correctly?
Cursor supposed to answer my question with proper answer, not keep looping same response, seems it’s also wasting my token usage.

Does this stop you from using Cursor?

  • No - Cursor works, but with this issue. Because I need the solution from Cursor’s answer regarding my mobile app issue.

Hey, thanks for the report.

Looks like this is a known issue: in Auto mode the chat can get stuck in a loop. I can see in your screenshot that the same message is repeating.

Here are a couple of workarounds to try:

  • Start a new chat using CMD + R
  • Pick a specific model instead of Auto, like Sonnet 4.5 or GPT-5

Let me know if either of these helps.
