Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known issue on macOS 26.2 (Tahoe). There’s a bug on this OS version related to extension host crashes.

Can you check a few things:

  1. Open Activity Monitor and look for Cursor processes. Do you see any stuck or frozen processes?
  2. Check Console.app (the system app). You might see crash reports from Cursor there.
  3. Try a clean reinstall:
    • Remove Cursor completely (follow this guide, replace “VS Code” with “Cursor” and “.vscode” with “.cursor”)
    • Download the latest version from Download · Cursor
    • Reinstall
  4. If possible, try an older version of Cursor (for example 2.2.34) from this page

If none of that helps, please send:

  • Your macOS version (exact version from About This Mac)
  • Logs from ~/Library/Application Support/Cursor/logs/ (latest main.log)
  • Crash reports from Console.app, if you have any

Let me know how it goes.

Hi - The uninstall and going to the older version has worked. Thank you.
