Cursor memories aren't persisting

Describe the Bug

When cursor restarts (after a normal shutdown,) in the same project & workspace, my saved memories are gone.

Steps to Reproduce

Create memories, explicitly with the agent. Memories are saved and can be viewed at settings->rules & memories->saved memories. Exit cursor. Restart cursor and I get “no memories yet”

Expected Behavior

Memories are meant to persist when the application exits normally and is restarted.

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hi @matthew-a-gordon do the memories come back after a while? it could be a loading issue at begin.

Please also check Settings > Network > Run Diagnostics

No - on Windows 11 memories do not return. Network diagnostics all pass. Curiously, I had an edit session yesterday using Cursor on my linux laptop and it had what appeared to be all of my accumulated memories across both Cursor environments.

Yes they are synched usually automatically.

Could you check if your Win version has Privacy disabled? or what the current setting is, that might affect sync.
