Cursor pending credit card charges shown as 'Enstil AI'?

This might belong more in Bug Reports or Help, but I thought I’d throw it out here –

I recently noted some unusual pending charges on the credit card (Amex) I use to pay for Cursor, originating from ‘Enstil AI’. However, when I click down into the pending charge cursor.com is shown as the originator, with a phone number that matches the one on Cursor’s Crunchbase page, 831-425-9504.

I asked Sam ([email protected]) about this, and he said

“Cursor has no association with “Enstil Ai” - we don’t bill under that name. All Cursor charges appear as “Cursor” or “Anysphere Inc” (our legal entity name) on credit card statements.”

This is clearly incorrect. Interestingly, the actual charges eventually show up as ‘Cursor’, not ‘Enstil AI’.

Weirdly, a search for ‘Enstil AI’ shows that it was a defunct site shut down years ago that provided free access to Stable Diffusion. I never had any association with this service.

@Colin , @deanrie , what say thee?

Just got the same charge, clearly Cursor, google search led me to this post as I was about to dispute the charges.

Also oddly enough my overage charges from yesterday were billled as Cursor. For me it’s an AmEx Business card.

Yeah same here, got the same sort of Enstil AI charge

Hey all!

This is a known issue with AmEx that we’ve been told should be fixed. I’ll reach out to this of you on this thread and ask for a screenshot of your most transaction noting enstil.ai.

Hi @Colin

Will send you a screenshot for Amex as requested. Overnight, the pending charge (still pending) changed from Enstil AI to Cursor.

Thanks @rsb! @ascensionresearch also confirmed that it changed. We’re following up with our providers to make sure this is sorted once and for all.

Still an issue. Just happened to me. When I call amex they even list the last charge as enstil ai.
