Hi there, I’m very hype with the launch of the Cursor SDK at Build programmatic agents with the Cursor SDK · Cursor . A question tho, will the Agent created by the SDK have the same Cursor hidden System Prompt applied to like the IDE version? Can we customize that prompt?

Yes, agents created with the SDK get the same Cursor system prompt as the IDE. It’s the same agent loop under the hood. You can’t customize or replace that system prompt today.

Not sure if it’s a correct use case, but I’m using Cursor to work with spatial geometry and astronomy stuffs, which I found the work can be improved quite a lot if I can “bypass” some of coding-oriented parts in the system prompt and replace with others. Maybe Cursor team can keep the security-related parts as non-negotiable only and other parts customizable in the SDK? That would be great.
