Cursor: Slow Startup, Unusable, Network Issues, No Dialogue Response & Severe Lag

Describe the Bug

My cursor takes 5 minutes to start, but after opening it, it cannot be used. After checking the network, it remains as shown in the picture. I tried the official method provided, but it still cannot be used. There is no response after entering the dialogue, and the cursor is too laggy

Steps to Reproduce

Only my computer is like this, my colleagues’ computers are all fine

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Version:x64-1.4.2
Vscode Version:x64-1.103.0

Additional Information

Any cursor version has this issue, and my VSCode also has this problem. But my idea is compatible with PyCharm and others

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, is your internet connection okay? Are you possibly using a VPN or proxy? Also, try disabling HTTP2.

My network is okay now. I have turned off my VPN and proxy, and tried using http1.1, but still have problems

Do you have the option to switch to a different network, perhaps if you have access to a mobile network? Also, make sure your network isn’t being blocked by a firewall or antivirus.

The methods I have tried include: restarting, reinstalling, switching networks, changing accounts, checking firewalls, proxies, using other versions, cleaning plugins, cleaning MCP, clearing cursor related user information, etc

None of the above has solved my problem

Do you have any antivirus software installed?

The problem that had been bothering me for a month has finally been solved. My other two colleagues and I uninstalled and reinstalled it, then installed it using the default path. All the problems have disappeared, but I’m not sure why this can solve them. Previously, we didn’t install it on the C drive by default, it was a custom path

Thanks for sharing your solution. It could also help others with similar issues.
