Cursor Tab never produces inline completions on Windows 11

Hi,
Cursor Tab is enabled, but I never receive grey inline completions in HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
Setup
Cursor version: 3.12.17 Stable
Windows 11 Build 26200
Free plan
No extensions installed
What I have already tried
Confirmed Cursor Tab is enabled and not snoozed
Tested HTTP Compatibility Mode with HTTP/1.1
Fully quit Cursor from the Windows system tray and restarted
Ran Browser and Network Diagnostics; Cursor Tab and all other checks passed
Completely uninstalled Cursor
Deleted the Cursor folders from AppData, LocalAppData, Programs, and .cursor
Reinstalled Cursor without importing VS Code settings
Tested with a clean Cursor profile
Opened Developer Tools while typing; no red console errors appeared
Cursor Chat works normally
The exported logs do not appear to contain any 401, 403, 429, authentication, network, or Cursor Tab-specific errors.
The only unusual log entries I noticed were:

Hey thanks for the detailed report. It is clear you have already gone through all the troubleshooting. Good news. Everything is fine with the installation. No need to reinstall or change network settings.

What is actually happening. On the Free (Hobby) plan Cursor Tab has a monthly limit on the number of completions. On your account Tab worked normally until July 20. Completions were issued and accepted. After that the limit for this month was used up. When the limit ends the client simply stops sending Tab requests. That is why Network Diagnostics pass. There are no errors in DevTools. Reinstallation and a clean profile do not help. The limit is server side and tied to the account.

By the way the log lines you noted are not relevant here.

  • [MainThreadShellExec.execute] Session not found is a harmless race at the start of the extension host. It happens in healthy sessions too.
  • “Extension host is unresponsive” at 05:09:18 changed to “is responsive” after about 1.3 seconds. This is a short startup blip not a hang.

How to get Tab back.

  • The limit resets at the start of the next calendar month. After that completions will work automatically again.
  • Or upgrade to Pro. There Tab completions have no limit.

If after the limit reset Tab still does not appear write here and we will look deeper.
