I built a small extension to help track your Cursor spending directly in the status bar. It uses the information from the new “Spending” tab in your Cursor Dashboard.
What it does:
- Shows your Auto and API usage percentages right in the status bar (e.g. Auto: 1.4% API: 4.5%)
- Hover for a rich tooltip with progress bars, spend summaries, and quota details
- Click to jump straight to your Cursor dashboard
- Auto-refresh every 20 minutes (configurable)
Setup is simple:
- Install from the Extensions tab in Cursor (search “Cursor Spending”)
- Grab your WorkosCursorSessionToken cookie from cursor.com/dashboard?tab=spending (DevTools → Application → Cookies)
- Paste it in the extension settings or click the status bar to open the setup panel
The token is stored locally in your user settings and is only used to fetch your usage data from the Cursor API.
