Cursor v1.3 - Pre-release Discussions

Got it, yeah it actually is multiple files that got messed up…

Do you know anything about cursor repeating commands, it seems to be getting stuck in infinite loops, mostly when updating to do lists and running terminal commands.

Yes there were a few reports about this, not just on 1.3 but also 1.2.4, I passed through several Request IDs to the team and they were mostly issues with Sonnet and Gemini but not Cursor related.

Could you post a full separate Bug Report with more info and a Request ID with privacy disabled so we can look into the details? Cursor – Getting a Request ID

The main issue I’m seeing is that the diff tool keeps braking. I see the ‘review’ icon in middle of editor appear, then flashes away - not letting me approve or deny the change.

Seems like either a new chat or restart solves the issue.

Here is a request ID:

Edit: on the same request above, it seems to have ‘come back’ - so on a couple files it was lost but visible on others…

It’s a separate, automaticly generated website, containing official download links, for convenience.

I built downloadcursor.app as a response to the overly ad-filled cursor.uuid.site, which isn’t always up to date either.

It’s less essential now with the new early update release schedule, but during the 0.4 era, a few updates were botched, so we needed a way to be notifed of new pre-release updates, and a simple way to rollback to previous versions.

Hi all, if you were affected by the looping issue, we deployed a fix.

For the looping issue:

Just wondering. With something so obvious. How could a multi-billion dollar company not have known about this problem, which in my case left Cursor unusable.

Hey, version 1.3 is a prerelease. It still contains some bugs. The fact that you received this update despite having early access turned off is our mistake and we apologize for that. However, you can download the previous stable version here:

Agree it’s a pre-release, but I noticed this problem in the first ten minutes,so I’ll stick with my comment as this was a complete show stopper and rendered Cursor unusable for me. A multi-billion dollar company such as Cursor needs to do more testing, your pre-release customers are not your testing team.

This.

I second this, need this feature.

1.3.3 is unusable. Night and day difference in the agent’s intelligence.

Whats the issue with 1.3.3 in detail? We released several bug fixes in it for models, UI, terminal,.. but would want to hear if we broke something.

Why is cursor so laggy all of a sudden???

I turned on “Early Access” on my Mac, but I still don’t see version 1.3. Any idea how to get it? Thanks!

It’s been over three months, and this bug still exists.
:sob:

After splitting the chat panel into an independent window, you can’t type anything in the input box.

This makes the function of opening chats in a new window completely useless.

I hope this issue can be fixed as soon as possible.

I don’t know if users of other languages have encountered similar problems. I’m a Chinese user.

still not got this one yet :frowning:

Maybe give us a way to disable auto updates altogether??? I prefer to update via HomeBrew and don’t want Cursor to update itself at all, not stable and neither Beta. Is there a way to do that?

hi @Skskssks if you wish to completely disable all updates you can do so in

Cursor Settings > Editor Settings > search for “Update Mode”. Set to None.

Please note that this way you would not receive bug fixes for your version but you can still manual update.
There is no official homebrew installation.

@tangjun thank you for bumping this up. I am sending the info to dev team! Sorry that we missed your post.

@fisforfaheem on which version are you now? 1.3. is now in testing as Early Access release (Beta) and the stable version is 1.2.4.

@yihuaxiang please try to restart Cursor, the test release is queued so it may take a bit time to reach each user.

Hey @condor Nice thanks. I just checked and I already had set it to Manual, forgot about it sorry. I think then this should be merged with the Update Access selector, aka Update: Mode and Update Access should be merged into one selector
