Cursor v1.3 - Pre-release Discussions

Hey everyone!

v1.3 is now starting to roll out for pre-release users! :tada:

Please keep in mind this is an early version—some features may change or be removed before the final release, and you may encounter more bugs or instability than usual. Only opt in if you’re comfortable with that risk.

If you’d like to try it out, open the Beta tab in the app and set your Update Access to Early Access.

To keep things tidy, feel free to use this thread to share your feedback, report bugs, or discuss anything you notice in this version.

We’ll share a full changelog once the update is available to everyone.

Thanks for testing!

Following on from the previous thread, it seems this has been pushed to users on the default option as well as early access users.

This is a beta version, and if you received this update, it means you agreed to it” but also “Yes it rolls out to few users who are not on Early Access” is a bit contradictory. Should probably respect the user’s choice on beta builds that could potentially contain bugs as mentioned.

How do I roll back to previous version?
every 1 to 3 messages I have to start a new chat.
I’m not being hyperbolic, litterally after 1 to 3 it says the conversation is too long.

I used to be able to use a single chat thread over multiple days.

@Rakly3 you can download 1.2. from the website. Downloads | Cursor - The AI Code Editor
And thank you for the feedback, appreciate it.

[Edit: I checked, it was not intentional and won’t be going out to more Default users, sorry about this!]

Sorry about this. If you had failed checkpoints, please email me [email protected] - we are rolling out an update right now, expect it in the next 60 minutes.

not trying to be negative, i used to be a project manager, and i dont understand how this extremely frequent pattern (even for beta versions) they are rolled out and then immediately followed by the most core aspects of cursor breaking down.

it would be one thing if it was some edge case thing with a new feature thats what a beta is supposed to catch, but how on earth can you guys be releasing things breaking current features?

it seems to me that most of the code a cursor is written by cursor, and you have a recursive problem where your broken ai is breaking your broken ai editor.

this way you wont have to come back and say after releasing a beta that in 1hr youll come back and add a new update. i know its probably not you specifically im speaking to cursor generally here but you guys are dropping the ball extremely hard let me help you out. this is a marketing and pr disaster. cursor is basically icarus.

heres the fix, your welcome:

add to auto mode:

  • completely by default kimik2, gemini flash 2.5, qwen coder (newest model), and deepseek

let the user choose what model they want to use, or use whatever works for you guys but make auto like a million times better

then revert the pricing back to 500 request a month and the slowmode after with unlimited timed request for other models

say “sorry” publicly, then say here are the ways we are going to make things better

if you need more help maybe its more complex, maybe the pricing model was untenable, ok fine, but you know whats worse then a bad pricing model? losing all your customers.

i used all my request in a day, in like two hours of semi focused cursor use

how the **** is that possible, a day??? i dont want to sound like a broken record player by this point because i know a lot of people are complaining but nobody has said anything.

can somebody just answer the cursor users for goodness sake?

I have noticed this too, not going to rollback yet, but probably worth looking at if this is a bug or intentional?

Can we safely revert back to 1.2 without losing our rules and other settings? It’s making me a bit nervous to go back.

I am investigating this now

Yes - will be no problem. Are you experiencing the checkpointing bug?

Hey everyone! The issue with needing to start summarized chats should be fixed

Im still on 1.3.0 and its not updating

Great! I haven’t had to restore to a checkpoint yet. But all the edits are made in the chat window and I can’t easily see what code is changing. Thanks!

Ah, sorry about this. Checkpointing is about to be rolled out fixed
