Feature request for product/service
Describe the request
It’s time the team address this.

Please can we have changelogs for the pre-release / early access / beta releases and updates:
Hey,
I get the “Update Cursor” pop-up once in a couple of days. Where can I see the release notes for the minor version updates?
I’m really looking forward to it.
Of course, I know that public opinion hasn’t been very positive lately.
But I just can’t help being excited about the new version.
Please understand that my writing may sound translated, as I’m not very fluent in English.
Thought i would get the 1.4.4 patch but I downloaded 1.5.0, with every update Im afraid of what changed and not seeing the changelog updated makes this much worse.
what are the changes on this version? like there’s no specific changelogs that tell on this version, do you have any idea guys?
The official website’s changelog page is completely empty.

Things I’ve spotted in the 0.46 release
New combined Chat/Composer
Shared context between Chat & Composer (Start in Ask / move to Agent)
Deepseek R1 thinking UI
MCP Server Config file .cursor/mcp.json
MCP YOLO (All or nothing it seems)
MCP Resources
New default theme
New settings layout (Rules & MCP)
New Context Picker
Add git commits to context
Add terminals to context
Smaller menu icons
Agent compatibility check
Visual indicator to show loaded rules
Have I missed anything?
Why don’t I see a changelog on the web yet?
Does the new feature support slow requests?

what are the changelog of this version? what are the changes?

It would be great to get changelog updates faster, maybe even have special changelog page for early access users if such changes are not suitable for regular changelog page. nearly all updates i have to wait several days to find out what is new, like today with 1.1.1
It would be an easy way to find out what’s new. Ideally in the future maybe show the change log in the same way as VS Code does on update as well, preferably with a toggle.
Describe the Bug
Recently I updated Cursor from 1.0.x to 1.1.2, and today I updated it to 1.1.3. I was curious what was new in this version (and in version 1.1 in general) but when I go to the change log at Changelog | Cursor - The AI Code Editor I can only see notes for versions up to 1.0.
A. What’s new in 1.1?
B. Can somebody update the change log?
Steps to Reproduce
Navigate to Changelog | Cursor - The AI Code Editor and look for version 1.1.

So I noticed cursor prompting me to update with an option to read the changelog. I just want to know what has changed. It takes me to this url:
This URL only has information up to version 0.44. I check the version I am running. It says 0.44.11. Ok. I guess the changelog is not updated?
I perform the upgrade anyway. Yolo, right?
I again check the version and it says 0.45.1. However, I notice another popup window prompting me to update cursor again. I click the ‘read changelog’ link a…
I want to click Upgrade Cursor but I’m afraid it will downgrade me, as it has once before. I’m on Mac version 0.43.4. I love the new features, the agent, showing me all the files that have been edited right near the text window. Is there a 43.5? I don’t see it in the changelog.
Pretty sure this was raised a year ago. Even the docs AI doesn’t know
[lol]
As always, for those with early access, let’s discuss what’s new in version 1.6.
I’ve been testing the nightly builds for a few days without noticing major changes, but the early access release just dropped about an hour ago.
I haven’t discovered anything significant yet, but I’m curious to hear what others have found.
Note from @danperks : Beat me to making a thread, but let’s discuss
just got the update, and super excited to see what is new.
Could we have a straightforward release note, a video, or a blog post instead of almost meaningless bullet points for each release, please?
Update:
Similar to VSCode or Blender
Can we make sure either in the forum or on the site there is a clear indication of what is in an update release? I am running it now but I have no idea what’s changed.
I know the devs here are hard at work, we get updates often. I’m unsure if we get patch notes? If we don’t, would it ever be possible? Would be nice to know what I’m updating. Sometimes I notice people on here discussing various bugs and issues, but often I don’t have any of those bugs or issues.
I really don’t like my work to be interrupted, so I don’t like updating a lot. If things are going well, I will put it off until I see how the forum looks.
Think of it like having your cup of coffee r…
I noticed that Cursor was just updated to version 0.49.5, but I can’t find the changelog on the site (Changelog | Cursor - The AI Code Editor ). Has it not been published yet?

Anyone else just got an update to 1.4.0 in early access?
Only new thing I found yet is a “You’ve hit your usage limit” under the chat.
It did not fix the freezes and lag issues, yet.
Hey everyone!
v1.3 is now starting to roll out for pre-release users!
Please keep in mind this is an early version—some features may change or be removed before the final release, and you may encounter more bugs or instability than usual. Only opt in if you’re comfortable with that risk.
If you’d like to try it out, open the Beta tab in the app and set your Update Access to Early Access.
To keep things tidy, feel free to use this thread to share your feedback, report bugs, or discuss …
Hey everyone!
v1.5 is now available to all users!
The full changelog can, as always, be found here:
Feel free to use this thread to share your feedback, or create a new post in Bug Reports for support with any bugs or issues you may find.
As some have you may have spotted, v0.46 is on its way, with some spruced-up UI and some agent improvements
We are currently in the process of getting v0.46 ready for it’s full release, and we are slowly rolling it out to a select batch of users to ensure nothing is seriously broken and we ruin everyone’s day!
Once available, all users will get the update automatically, downloading from cursor.com will not get you the update early!
As always, the full changelog will be availab…
I would like to request the addition of a dedicated web page or in-app notification panel for detailed changelogs. I’ve recently noticed that Cursor IDE installs updates automatically to newer versions. It would be very helpful to know what features have been added or what bugs have been fixed—both for major and minor updates. This transparency will greatly benefit users who want to stay informed about changes in the development environment.
Not sure why, but the changelog is no longer including what’s updated in the 0.x.x updates. Is there a reason for this?
Would be nice to see what we are getting when we update.
Both for the Web and in the IDE itself.
Is there a changelog for the incremental minor versions like 0.50.3 etc? I would like to know what is actively being changed with each new update
Why are patches not being added to the changelog since the 1.0 release?

@andrewh already said they will be moving to a system where they provide us with pre-release changelogs. See this post for more details: Cursor v1.6 - Pre-release Discussion - #180 by andrewh

@mwjt42 thanks for the reminder. It does take a bit preparation for it. We are checking a few approaches.
1.6 is already out with changelog.

It is 2 months since the last post on this topic, and the latest version is 2.0.77. The changelog was last updated weeks ago and contains only a one-liner: “Patches 2.0.1 - 2.0.28: Bug fixes”

Cursor team, do you know what you’ve changed before you release an update?
If you do know, then can you please share it with us each time?
If you don’t know, then can you please find out before you release the update?

I’m on the stable channel, and I just got updated to 2.1.17. Yet Changelog · Cursor still only has 2.0 changes. Yet again, a major update and we don’t know what’s in it.

Hi everyone, we do have 2.1 already listed in the changelog. Note that we regularly publish smaller updates with improvements and bug fixes once they are complete. The improvements are also listed on the changelog but note that we may not list each specific change as not all are user related. For pre-release / Early Access the application may change frequently and we do not publish each change as there may be further adjustments with time. In case you do not prefer to have too frequent updates please use the Default update channel.
