Thought i would get the 1.4.4 patch but I downloaded 1.5.0, with every update Im afraid of what changed and not seeing the changelog updated makes this much worse.
nevermind i guess i got the early access version as i always download from the github since im on linux and cant autoupdate.
Yes you are right, it is the Early Access version that we are now just rolling out.
We will provide release notes once it rolls out to more users as we are still finalizing it.
Hello guys. I’m on 1.6.6 (no beta channel) and there are still no release notes for 1.6.
In addtition the “show release notes” button has been removed from the UI couple of updates ago.
Minor releases on “stable” without information is just weird. Why insist on this practice?
Hey, the changelog will be available when version 1.6 is released.
That’s a non-answer. Try again?
I’m on non-beta and got six patches of a version and yet you look at it as “not released”?
Would you be happy to have non-documented updates in your stack?
This version is rolling out to some users and will soon be available to everyone.
Wow, you know exactly that this does not answer the real question… nice.
1.6 is out with Changelog.
I am running cursor 1.7.33. Thats 7 patchlevels more recent than the latest documented patch (1.7.26). And now cursor is telling me there is an update ….
With one of the earliest 1.7.x versions, I lost a couple of hours of work due to some mysterious bug with the new chat function, so I am curious if I want to install or not …
cursorhistory.com/versions tells me there have been 3 versions … since yesterday.
It feels like we are publicly beta-testing….
Dont get me wrong: I love the fast release schedule. I would just like to make a slightly more informed decision .
Hey, sorry, we’ll add patch descriptions soon.
Can I disable automatic updating? I have no information that it is a good idea to update and there are multiple negative signals of people losing work with the recent updates
Since 2.0, I’m being told there’s a new update and asked if I want to restart to update to it multiple times every day, and yet there’s still apparently no public info on what these updates are changing. Changelog · Cursor is more like a blog than a changelog. This really isn’t good enough for a paid subscription used by probably hundreds of thousands of devs at this point.
I was literally thinking the exactly the same today morning.
After every update I now check whether the agent approval settings have finally changed (which they still don’t seem to have
). I really appreciate the iteration speed of Cursors dev team, but a bit more information about what was fixed would really be appreciated.
There seem to be release notes when a certain threshold of complaints is reached. ![]()
I disabled update checking. Ignorance is bliss. Yes, there will be bugs fixed in slightly newer releases, and new bugs introduced also. The releases seem to be fixes mixed with functionality, so any version is a gamble.
When I hear about new functionality, I wait a bit and then update to check it out.
Anyway, for me it works.
I’m in Early Preview. I do sometimes get updates that break my UX. But it’s interesting. Besides, sometimes the new versions actually add real functionality, not just bugs!
But the fact that the Cursor Devs can’t just ask the Cursor Agent to write them a Changelog is laughable.
