Cursor v1.6 - Pre-release Discussion

As always, for those with early access, let’s discuss what’s new in version 1.6.

I’ve been testing the nightly builds for a few days without noticing major changes, but the early access release just dropped about an hour ago.

I haven’t discovered anything significant yet, but I’m curious to hear what others have found.

Note from @danperks: Beat me to making a thread, but let’s discuss :raising_hands:

Someone wrote about better terminal?

Hi.

On my second pc, it is set to nightly release, so i noticed two things:
-Performance tab
-Updated look for running commands
-Colors on different agent modes
-Agent Window setting
on Beta features

Keeping an interested eye on this. The 1.5 release was horrendously bad. I’m on 1.4, which has a number of issues (nothing particularly severe, annoyances though). I am really looking for a solid, stable, reliable build to upgrade to. I know these are nightlies, but I’m really looking to see how stable these pan out to be before any beta or official release is pushed.

This bug has remained unresolved since version 1.4.

in beta settings:

MCP resources support, finally

ok i see it’s still so basic its useless, but happy to see this coming soon.

agent window looks interesting but still a draft, hope they get it right

seems to be their background agent ui but built into their ide, not sure tho

when enable “Show Icons”, the other extensions icon missing
@webdo @condor

what its Agent Window?

Tool calls results are not visible in 1.6! That’s very bad!

cursor CLI become cursor-agent, so commands like cursor $PWD , cursor –list-extensions not work any longer

FIX THIS PLEASE!

What part basic? MCP resources or agent? What feedback can I share?

Do you have a lot of extensions running?

No, only 6. 4 for python related extensions, and rainbox csv & even better toml.

Fixing this now

What is Agent WIndows?

we need the base to be updated to latest VSCODE and also please support extensions like “widget copy“ and coilot extension
