I heavily use the MAX mode with Sonnet 3.7 and today it happened the 3rd time that out of nothing and in a complete different context, Cursor decided that it wanted to implement a Todo feature (see the screenshot).
That was after it finished a small correction to one of my files, but instead of finishing off with the summary, it starts to plan & search in order to implement the todo feature - that’s extra annoying if your using max mode and it blows your money if you don’t babysit the implementation all the time. Which is a shame, because I used to work in multiple tabs, but with this I need to babysit now in one task otherwise it goes completely off plan. By the way I instructed it to give me a short one sentence information about the next tool use, so I could see what Cursor was up to, before that, you just sit and wait and wonder why he is search like crazy although the original task is done.
I tried with a hard rule in my cursor rules, but it ignores the whole context (looks like it cleared it) and goes on with this not needed todo feature.
I’m using the latest Cursor Version (0.49.6) on Mac OS 15.3 / M1 Max.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? Couldn’t fine anything in the forum.
Tell me, if you need more details.
