Delete history (easy fix to deal with lag some say)

Hey, I did a quick search but couldn’t find anything if there’s already a thread my bad.

I’ve noticed cursor seems to get very laggy; its hard to do anything else like open new chat or even click or delete files that need to be pruned.

When I open the same repo on just a normal code editor, it works fine, which tells me the cursor ide itself has performance issues. Possible future fix from my limited knowledge, can we leverage or have a setting that allows efficient use of threads relative to hardware avialble?

Also, another option can we please bulk delete our chat history as some say that is the cause for the lag?

clicking delete one by one is not the play, i tried deleting appdata but nothing :man_shrugging:

Hey, you can try renaming or moving the project. This will help you quickly clear the history.

Additionally, you can delete the history by navigating to this path and sorting the folders by modification date. Choose the one that was used recently and delete it:

Windows: %APPDATA%\Cursor\User\workspaceStorage
macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Cursor/User/workspaceStorage
Linux: ~/.config/Cursor/User/workspaceStorage
