Diff mode doesn't work anymore

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I no longer see diffs after agent changes; have updated; have restarted etc. No longer seem them which makes interpreting the agent output more difficult.

The toolbar has this info, just doesn’t overlay the editor anymore for me.

Steps to Reproduce

Not sure, it started happening yesterday and now seems busted.

Expected Behavior

Hey @philkuz

Thanks for reporting this. A fix is in progress and should be included in 2.2.0 or very soon after.

Hi it’s been a few days, i’m on the latest of the latest and diff mode is still busted for me.

I’m using a remote extension; but problem doesn’t work locally for me either.

i’d really like the capability back.

Hey @philkuz

We’ve shipped some inline diff fixes in the 2.2.x releases, and there’s another one coming soon that addresses an issue where inline diffs could cause the editor to freeze under certain conditions. That fix isn’t in a stable version yet.

Is this happening with particularly large files? Are you still seeing this issue on v2.2.36?
