What new features does Cursor 1.7 have? I didn’t see a changelog for 1.7 on Cursor’s official website, and so far I’ve only discovered the Agent Autocomplete feature.
We’re already up to 1.7.4:
Come on team Cursor, what are we testing with this pre-release build?
You mean 1.8.0 now?
It made all extensions break in this version @deanrie :

That is not the official release page. Downloads come direct from cursor.com anything on that website isn’t officially from cursor.com so be cautious.
the downloads come actually from cursor.com, they just store the download links on the github page, but yes, everybody should verify it every single time or use official website to install anything
Cursor has a serious problem with delivering changelogs on time. Usually, long after a new version is released, the changelog can be found at Changelog · Cursor . Currently, we are on version 1.8, for which no changelog is available, and even for version 1.7, which was already released, we still don’t have one.
I have complained about this a bunch of times and what I would add on top of this, models docs page is always out of sync, there are models missing, such as o3-pro… And half the models in the model list within Cursor IDE are missing hover card information.
Where are getting 1.8 from, please? Is it the nightly, or another release track?
nightly
I was hoping the release process was fixed, sigh.
please add the scroll-to-top/bottom button, when the context widows is large, need it。and the default status the context window is scroll to top when you switch to,but I always need the bottom to get the newest message。
Yes! And also add a “Summarize” Button/Dropdown-Menu instead of having to WRITE EVERY TIME “/summarize” into the chat when there’s actually already UI for this function.
I suggest docume ting first and then releasing.
This last version has deleted many things from the UI as they were configured. I lost a remote terminal config, remote folders, there are some popups about certain workspace files, and now I see that the source control pane is broken.
Whatever you did in 1.7.4 is really messed up. This is the first time I am angry and annoyed that an update broke many things, and there is no changelog.
Another thing, the UI just selectively froze. Only the terminals were working. I closed those, but no click or shortcut was able to go through the Cursor menus, tabs, panes or even the window controls, I had to kill it to regain control.
Buddy, I can’t keep up with the updates, please slow down a bit!
Please make sure “Apply” button always works (with all models) when in Ask model. Until that is fixed, updating Cursor is a waste of time. I have gone back to a previous version. You are overreaching, and that will eventually bite you. I love Cursor, but the number of issues is accumulating and you will reach a threshold.
Hey everyone - we will be rolling out 1.7 features incrementally. Many of them have been previewed in the nightly build. We know that we need to improve delivering changelogs alongside builds, but we do so to make sure that full feature releases are not done prematurely. Please keep comments focused on substantive build feedback.
Nightly, I get version 1.8.0.
@andrewh It still would be nice for you guys to tell us what are the new features. This ends up being a thread about bugs and complaints, when the title of the discussion is “New Features”, not “New Bugs”.
It’s not a good approach having us discover features, this is not a game. And you’d get much better feedback if you told us what features to look for.
If I were you guys, I’d post every change for every new version here, as soon as you release it. For instance, I just got an update to 1.7.9, and then immediately to 1.7.10, and I have no idea what the changes were.
Also, posting every change for every minor version here will help you guys with the changelog once you fully release the new version.
