We are working on creating documents for a software project, where we need to mention the problem, its solution, and related files. There are around 300-400 such documents, and we create 4-5 new files daily.
- We want to know how we can analyze all these documents and get answers from them using a cursor (Add Docs+). Is there a way to automate adding these documents to the cursor every day ?
Also, is it possible to analyze around 400 documents without having to mention the filenames (@filename) and still get answers correctly ?
Becuase We know the problem , but we don’t know which documents have the solution, because there are so many documents. That’s why it’s hard to find the right ones.
- When I give the @folders (from my PC system) in the chat and ask a question, it doesn’t respond. It just keeps showing loading for a long time but never provides an answer.
Suggetes other way or guide us regarding this kind of problem. We would appreciate your help with this.
Hey, to answer each of your questions:
-
There is no way to automate the addition and indexing of documentation. If they all live under one domain, you may be able to setup Cursor to index all the docs, but this would only result in one individual doc you can @, not one for each document.

While we are working on this side of things currently, there is no way to auto-add docs to your prompts either. My suggestion above could help with this, giving you one big doc to @, that contains all your documentation within it.
Thank you for your reply. So, what can we do in this situation? Do you have any alternative ideas or ways? Which would be helpful for us.
The best alternative I can think of is to have a local copy of your documentation, then @ the folder, which may work, but you could still find having so many documents means Cursor struggles to find the most relevant ones!
Thanks for your reply, and what you said is correct. There is also an issue with @foldername loading and finding it’s content also.
