Does Cursor write to files?

I’m testing the free version of Cursor and have connected it with Android Studio and created a project folder.

My question is, does Cursor write to the files in the project folder or does it only shows the code, and then I have to add the changes my self ?

If you use chat, you have to click apply manually and it will then edit the files.
If you use Composer, it will write the files automatically for you, all you have to do is review and apply all the changes.

I use Composer and it just seems that I have to copy/paste everything from Cursor to the files in Android studio, and Cursor can’t do this for me. But just wanted to be sure

why do you have to do that you just need to open Android studio in the same folder that cursor is open?

yes it does. I use it. Not only for chat. Compose as well.

I have also opened my Android studio project folder in Cursor. But when composer makes some changes to one of my files, they are not written to the file. I have to copy the changes in Cursor and then paste them into the file in Android studio. When I ask composer if it can write to the file it says no and tells me that I have to do it my self.

Should it just work or is there something I have to activate first ?

You must click accept changes.

Thanks. I’ll try it later today

You can set it up so it doesn’t require approving applys but saves them right away

because you can always click “Reject Changes” or even just Restore

You can keep on using Composer without clicking Accept to your heart’s content
