Editor Focus Immediately Stolen by Another File Opening Automatically on macOS Sequoia

Describe the Bug

Terrible bug in Cursor it automatically opening same file in fraction of seconds and stealing editor focus, not letting me focus on work. When I manually open a file (e.g., from the file tree or using “Go to File”), the editor will display it for a fraction of a second before immediately switching to a different, seemingly random file. This prevents me from focusing on or working with the file I intended to open.

I have confirmed this happens even when no AI agent, chat, or “Auto-Implement” feature is active.

Steps to Reproduce

Open any file in Cursor project view.

From the file explorer sidebar, click to open any file (let’s call it File A).

Observe the editor pane.

Expected Behavior

File A should open in the editor and remain the active, focused tab, allowing me to view and edit its contents.

Operating System

MacOS
