Every 30-60 seconds the editor completely freezes for 2-3 seconds before becoming responsive again. I have tried running with cursor --disable-gpu and cursor --disable-extensions but none seems to have helped. I would like to debug this, but I don’t know where to view the logs of the Cursor editor itself. I am running a Mac M2 Pro on 15.3.1 Sequoia. It also doesn’t seem to be related to the project that I am working on. I have tried opening both a big project and a small one, both resulting in the same issue.
Hey, if you’ve already tried booting in modes without GPU and without extensions, you might have a different problem. Try opening the DevTools panel to see if there are any errors. Also, try clearing the cache, and reinstalling usually solves 99% of issues.
What kind of chat session lengths do you typically work with? Are you starting new chats often, or do they tend to run to many pages of scrollback?
I’ve noticed some freezes recently (macOS) that seem to happen when I’ve let a chat run really long, and then referenced that long chat again from a new one. Is that similar for you or are you keeping your sessions short?
I am not even prompting the chat. I have now completely wiped the application data and started fresh, it seems to work again without freezes. For reference, on MacOS I deleted ~/Library/Application Support/Cursor which completely resets any user data.
Nevermind, after a while it started happening again… Don’t know what the issue is, but the fix is definitely not permanent. Maybe something to do with memory, I notice that cursor is using a lot of memory at the moment
