ERROR CODE with no connection to cursor server

Hi Curor,

already encounterd connection problems in cursor windows app, for couples of days, I recorded one time with error code: fc3ab6c4-2285-4cce-93a0-2a3d5b9e7dcb. is it related to CHINA ip block issue?

already changed all models to test, still no connection.

Regards,

Gary

Hey Gary! This isn’t a China IP block - Cursor doesn’t block access from China, and the error code you shared never reached our servers, so it’s the connection between your machine and Cursor dropping (not your account or a region block). That fits it failing on every model.

Try these:

  1. Cursor Settings → Network → Run Diagnostics to see where it breaks.
  2. In the same panel, set HTTP Compatibility Mode → HTTP/1.1, then fully quit and reopen Cursor.
  3. Test on a different network (e.g. phone hotspot), and with/without VPN. If you use a VPN, make sure cursor.sh, cursor.com, and cursorvm.com go through the tunnel.

More detail: Network troubleshooting. If it’s still failing, reply with the diagnostics result, the exact error text, and a fresh Request ID (chat … → Copy Request ID).

Hi Mohit,

Your advice is of great value to me , especially for the HTTP 1.1.

Now it’s working with stable connection for serveral diagnose tests!

I’d like to recommand the interface to be with a popup prompt if unstable network status was detected by Cursor itself in future.

Regards,

Gary
