I just updated to the version below and now it doesn’t work anymore, getting the connection error all the time. I restarted my Mac, the app, logged out and in, clear the cache, and nothing. Is just broken.
Same here. After the update, all connections fail with the following message: Connection failed. If the problem persists, please check your internet connection or VPN.

You can find the settings by pressing CMD+, (comma) to open the VSCode-style application settings. The Cursor settings page is different, hence my comment to make the distinction.
I am currently having the same issue. Only for Anthropic models. @ntyagi@totalnomad are you seeing the same thing? Do other models work that aren’t claude? openai? deepseek?
I’m seeing the same error, but it only happens on the first attempt per each message. I’ll ask something in the chat, get the error, and then hit the “Try again” button and it works. Then it fails on my next message; I hit retry; it works. Repeat.
Same thing happened to me. Tried everything (http2, vpn, restart program, update, pc reboot, new chat, new network…) nothing worked. Came back the next day, problem gone.
This error is occuring for me also,
If i ask for “Explain me the code, it is working”,
But when i ask him to do anything, Then it returns me the error.
Can anyone help me in resolving this. @cursorbot
I tried turning it off and on, but it didn’t work out. But I got a hint from the comments above that there was a problem with the MCP server, so I checked it.
“The limit is 40 tools - some tools may not be available to the agent”
I disabled the MCP server that I am not using and the problem has been resolved.
