Connection failed... again

I periodically get a Connection failed message, but I know my connection is good. I don’t seem to be able to do anything to get it to connect again. Try again, restarting, nothing works. It will just work again after some period of time. Right now it’s been more than 24 hours. I’m primarily using Claude 3.7, but I’ve seen the same thing with other models. Any idea what’s going on? When it happens, I’m dead in the water.

This seems to be a related issue but I’ve never seen an error message that specifically mentioned Anthropic.

I cannot use “cursor” at all, not even the most basic completion function!

This happened exactly for me right after upgrading; and it didn’t work no matter what i tried, restarted, rebooted…etc

Sent an email to support; they suggested the same thing that I have tried.

This morning, it worked again without me doing anything… so I’m not sure what happened. It can’t be on my side I don’t think.

See if yours working now?

I’m also getting an unauthorized error. I’ve tried logging out and logging back in multiple times. This ■■■■■.

This has been going on for tha last couple of days. Really tired of it.

I checked this morning and it still won’t connect. This happened a week or two ago and it seemed to stop after about a week, but it started happening again 2 days ago. Still down. I’m trying to be patient, but I’m about to open the project in Windserf or Cline Dev just so I don’t lose any more time. (I know the W word is misspelled, but it wouldn’t let me type in in correctly)

Tried multiple models, nothing connects. Disabled pyright since it was giving a 404, no joy. Just says ‘generating…’ forever.

No matter what version you’re on, Cursor has lost it since last week.

It lacks on all fronts, ide bugs are enormous, no docs update, account usage explanation, no support, and so on…

To me it seems that these early twenties teammates are working on something way over their heads and can’t keep up with the professional demand it needs nowadays.

Get some professionals on board of your team or else this adventure will end as fast as it arrived.

Me too. Also, Composer is not working. Is there a fallback?

Still not working at all after a week? it will never apply the edit always… its 7 days of not working, what am I paying for ? Why did you break it it was working fine previously.

no one has any answers

same for me im stuck

Not sure if it helps, but I had problems where I couldn’t use any of Cursor’s AI features at all. Downgrading to 0.45 got everything working again as a temporary fix.

I couldn’t find a way to downgrade using homebrew, so I downloaded the dmg from cursor website and made an alias so I could use it like normal from the terminal (exact approach here in case it’s useful: Chat tab does not work AT ALL, and Compose tab has disappeared. · Issue #2853 · getcursor/cursor · GitHub).

If I had to guess, I think the problem may be security software / anti virus / firewall blocking something in 0.46. Wild guess though, based on some error messages like this: Extension host terminated unexpectedly. Code: 0 Signal: null abstractExtensionService.ts:155 - Stack Overflow

I figured out how to stop Cursor from auto updating.
