Cursor 1.3.9 version throws below error

Steps to Reproduce

install Cursor 1.3.9
Create a mcp tool and connect with Cursor agent
Switch to Claude 4 Sonnet model

Expected Behavior

Agent should work rather than throwing error

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Which MCP are you using? Also, check if everything is okay with its connection. Additionally, look into the logs: go to View → Output and select MCP Logs from the dropdown menu.

Which MCP server are you using? If you disable it, will the chat still work? If it’s your own server, check its functionality in the terminal, as there might be errors preventing Cursor from working.

How this error is related to MCP ? I think its something to do with connection between Cursor and Claude

If you’re using a non-working MCP, it might interfere with Cursor, especially since you mentioned it in your first message.

When i use Agent with Auto mode then same mcp works fine but when i select a specific model then it throws error.

I have exactly the same problem, I wrote about it earlier. Only restarting Cursor helps.

This is not MCP - I have removed every single MCP and still no luck. I did fresh installation of Cursor, no MCP and every single model is failing except Auto - for the last three days like that with no help

Removing the Figma MCP server did not solve it. Restarting Cursor did not solve it.

Only after starting a new chat after removing the MCP server brought it back. So definitely there is a connection to the MCP server but just removing or disabling the server is not enough. A new chat must be started, previous context must be discarded completely.

In my case it didnt helped - I have removed all MCPs, removed cursor completely, deleted directories and installed it again. After your suggestion I have tried creating a new chat but result is similar - it doesn’t say it cannot connect to the model but gave me error 500 (internal server error):
