Yes removing the whole folder and initiate the Code installing helped me again… but working from stratch again losing a build up chat with learning is a pity finding old logs of chats in the backup… but where with 1000 files?
I’m running into the same problem as of a couple of days ago. Chat will go 2-3 questions, and then hang at “Generating…” and then be unusable. Tried signing out and back end, and removing my Library/Application Support/Cursor/User folder, and the problem persists.
Same here but still there is no solution from cursor. intresting if they are intenting to resolve this or just they are in a race to bring in another version which make it worse
I am having the same issue I mentioned in another post a week or two ago. This is, again, incredibly frustrating that there is no feedback from the Cursor UI or status.cursor.com that things are down.
I have tried 0.46 and 0.47 on macos (multiple re-installs as well) from two separate networks. And I have tried 0.45 on linux. None has worked for the last hour. It simply hangs on Generating.
Please…Please…Please…give your users information in the UI about what is happening so that we can figure out if we need to wait a few minutes, a few hours, or a day before coming back to try Cursor again. Without this, we are left continually trying to execute prompts, wasting time, which is the exact opposite of the purpose of Cursor.
It’s fine if things go wrong. It’s not fine to not tell your users and waste their time.
This is now pushing me to other alternatives like Continue.dev, where I’ve heard great things about and have not heard of downtime that wasn’t Anthropic API related. And I will now stop recommending Cursor to folks.
One other aspect that I’ve been doing is maintain a pre.md doc where I keep track of the changes and guidance. Using a clear prompt, you can manage it within the chat functionality and make sure it’s readable.
Same issue. I probably had to hit generate 100+ times today, not to have any output. Tried with all different models.
Would be great to at least have this reflected on status.cursor.com so that one could understand the outage.
Also maybe something like chrome debug tool for under the hood inspection of network calls would be great as well. That way one could understand what’s happening better and feel more control as a developer. (is it my wifi, DNS, a particular model, is the request even going etc).
Same for me. Stopped working since yesterday. I also raised a report here very similar to yours:
I knew it had to be a widespread issue. Looks like there has been some major regression or some server has lost connection on their side if so many people are facing this all at once.
Same for me, Connection failed. If the problem persists, please check your internet connection or VPN
After I update, I cannot connet, please fix it as soon as possible!
