Expose Fast / Effort / Approval Mode as first-class controls in Agent input (like Claude Code)

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

Problem
Changing Fast and Effort (thinking level) currently requires:

Open model picker
Click Edit on the selected model
Then toggle Fast / change Effort
This is too buried. Users who care about cost/speed need to adjust these often, but the UI hides them behind nested menus. Approval / Auto-Run mode is similarly hard to discover and sometimes not selectable in Settings.

Request
Please make these independent, always-visible controls on the Agent input bar (similar to Claude Code):

Fast — dedicated toggle / chip (not buried in model Edit)
Effort / Thinking level — dedicated Low / Medium / High control
Approval / Run Mode — quick switcher for:
Auto-review
Allowlist
Run Everything
Why
Fast strongly affects burn rate; users need one-click control
Effort is adjusted per task; nested Edit is friction
Approval mode is a core safety/autonomy setting and should be as easy as switching Agent/Plan
Suggested UX
Keep current model picker for choosing model, but surface Fast, Effort, and Run Mode as separate chips next to the model name (like Claude Code’s mode/permission controls).
